THREE hundred thirty-eight individuals in the six zones in the town of Sta. Barbara will benefit from the Cash For Work project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office-Kalahi-CIDSS.
The cash for work project is being implemented at Zones 1 to 6 and Balabag centered on declogging of canals and clearing of roadside.
The project aimed at providing temporary employment to the people at this time of the pandemic. The implementation is still ongoing.
Kalahi-CIDSS has provided a total of P1.5 million grant for the cash for work project while the local government unit, barangay local government units, and communities have also provided in-kind contributions of P6,500.
The six zones were identified by the local government of Sta. Barbara as recipients of the social welfare's project through an approved resolution from the Sta. Barbara Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
The cash for work project between the DSWD and municipal government of Sta. Barbara was firmed up after its Municipal City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council approved a resolution approving the sub-project implementation.
The provision of cash for work project in Sta. Barbara is in line with the Kalahi-CIDSS Disaster Response Operations Modality.
Under the DROM, all the proposed sub-projects shall be approved by the city or municipal disaster risk reduction and management councils.
