DSWD to implement cash for work project in Roxas City

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Office-Kalahi-CIDSS will implement cash for work project in Roxas City to provide temporary employment to people during this pandemic.

The cash for work will focus on the coastal clean-up in Barangays Dumolog and Cogon with the latter as the lead barangay.Kalahi-CIDSS will provide more than P300,000 grant while the city government has a counterpart of P3,000.

At least 68 workers from the two barangays are expected to benefit from this project.

This is the first time that Roxas City has availed of a Kalahi-CIDSS project. The Program will provide cash support in exchange for community works for the coastal clean-up of the two barangays.

The cash for work project between the DSWD and the city government was firmed up after the Roxas City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council approved a resolution approving the sub-project implementation.

The provision of cash for work project to Roxas City is in line with the Kalahi-CIDSS Disaster Response Operations Modality.

Under the DROM, all the proposed sub-projects shall be approved by the city or municipal disaster risk reduction and management councils.
