The Department of Social Welfare and Development- recently released over PhP995,000 financial assistance to 12 eligible families of the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) program in President Roxas, Capiz.
The Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa program is being implemented by KALAHI-CIDSS (Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services).
Of the over PHP995,000 financial assistance, PHP395,000 was released as transitory support packages and PHP600,000 as livelihood settlement grants.
The amount of transitory packages depends on the result of the need assessment conducted by the social workers on these eligible families.
The transitory package includes food, non-food items, and even bills for the utilities to support their basic needs during the transition.
While each eligible family received PHP50,000 as livelihood settlement grants to start their proposed business.
The Balik Probinsya financial assistance to each eligible family ranges from PHP75,000 to PHP98,000. KALAHI-CIDSS staff ensured that pertinent documents were presented during the pay-out. Financial Analysts III Malu Catolin and Chona Marie Librado acted as tellers during the payout.

Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa program is one government’s support measures to decongest Metro Manila especially in urban communities. This strategy also aims to achieve balanced regional development.
