  SP BODY APPROVES MOST NUMBER OF ORDINANCES IN ONE SESSION A first for Iloilo Sanggunian, the 13th Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Iloilo approved five Provincial Ordinances in one regular session. “So far, this is the regular session where most number of Provincial Ordinances were passed by the Provincial Board,” Vice Governor Christine “Tingting” Garin said. During the 72nd Regular Session of the 13th Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Iloilo on November 27, 2020, five Proposed Provincial Ordinances were approved on the Third and Final Reading. The Resolution No. 2020-798 embodying Provincial Ordinance No. 2020-245, entitled: "An Ordinance Providing Financial Assistance to Repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers and Providing Funds Thereof", authored by the Honorable Jason R. Gonzales, co-authored by the Honorable Rolando B. Distura and sponsored by the Honorable Dorothy G. Paes and the Honorable Domingo B. The 13 th Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) ng Iloilo approved the grant of financial assistance for Ilonggo Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). Entitled “An Ordinance Providing Financial Assistance to Repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers and Providing Funds Thereof,” a total of P21 Million pesos was earmarked. Author of this Ordinance is 3rd District Board Member Jason Gonzales. “There will be an allocation of 4.2 million pesos per district in order that the overseas Filipino workers will be given 10,000 pesos each,” said Gonzales. The OFW, as beneficiary, must be a resident of the Province of Iloilo who was displaced and lost a job due to political unrest, civil war, natural calamities, experienced maltreatment from foreign employer, has sickness, or was involved in an accident.
